Dear Deb Letters
|
Dear
Deb,
I am only 15 and I'm a sophomore in high school. I just
moved to my town, and all the girls here hate me because all the guys
like me and it sucks because the girls aren't nice about not liking me.
They make my life a living hell. I find myself going home and crying in
my room forever. I dated this guy for about 10 months before I moved
here and we were serious (like serious where we would've gotten married
if we were five years older) now I go to him for the help and advice
because of the things happening here, but he is just being very insensitive
(let me remind you we're not going out anymore, but we still talk and
care about each other). My problem is, I need help, what can I do about
this whole situation to make going to high school better for me, and
what should I do about the whole boyfriend (or should I say
ex-boyfriend) thing? Please write back soon.
High
school can be tough, be strong, the snobbish behavior will soon pass.
Just be the better person during this tough time. As people see what a
great person you are and how unbothered you are, they will come around. There
are people in school ready and willing to be your friend, look for them, they
are there...:) One of your best sources for finding neat people to hang
around with will be one of your teachers. There is always a teacher that
teenagers like to hang around. Students will hang around this class
after school, before school and during lunch. Just having a group to hang
around and in a classroom environment will help you to find some nice friends.
As for your ex-boyfriend, you might try communicating with him through e-mail
or through some letters. Guys will sometimes share more if they don't
have to talk and you might find that those feelings are still there and he is
having a difficult time with you away and other guys wanting to get to know
you. I wouldn't give up on communicating with him, just try some
different topics.
