Despite not coming on stage until two in the morning, and risking being upstaged by following one of Jimi Hendrix’s most memorable shows, the Who tore off a visually dynamic and high-energy set at this1970 concert. Their performance was at times so well suited for filming that it’s hard to place the credit between the band and the filmmaker’s brilliant camera work and editing.
This concert film is probably the ultimate document of the Who’s explosive
live show in their prime and a must for all classic rock lovers who will be
quickly reminded of why they are still considered one of the greatest band’s
of all time. The DVD version is an excellent excuse to buy a DVD player and a
powerful home theater audio system. Play it loud!
