I recently had the pleasure of listening to the jazz album “Flying Under The Radar – Jazz Explorations in Saxophone, Flute & Clarinet [The World of Robert Ackerman: Box 2]”. The album, composed by Robert Ackerman, is a delightful mix of jazz, classical, and contemporary music. The melodies are intricate and beautiful, but not overly complicated. The instrumentation is varied and well-executed, using a combination of acoustic and electric instruments. I particularly enjoyed the sublime clarinet solos in tracks such as “Au Clair de la Lune” and “In the Still of the Night”.
